About CLSP

About the Conservation Land Stewardship Program.

The overarching responsibility of the Conservation Land Stewardship Program is to protect conservation investments which the State of New Hampshire has invested in. The primary methodology for achieving our goals is through adhering to industry standards for land conservation stewardship. To accomplish this we first work to conduct a high-quality monitoring program. Of the highest priority is to promote and maintain positive landowner relationships with open and honest communications. CLSP visits all properties with a level of inspection that we deem appropriate to the circumstances and conditions.

An additional and important responsibility is to help landowners understand how they can accomplish their goals within the context of the conservation easement. As a small agency with limited annual contact with our clients, it is of the utmost importance that clients reach out to CLSP with any concerns or questions in a timely fashion, at any time. The two resource guides created by CLSP staff provide greater detail about CLSP. You can find these guides and other helpful materials in the Resource Center.
